Michael Durfee, Chef & Owner

Michaels passion for food began in middle school, cooking dinners for his family and learning to prepare meals for large gatherings. He developed a love for gardening alongside his mother, nurturing plants from seed to table and deepening his connection to food. After a mentorship at Good Luck restaurant in Rochester, NY and an internship at Castello Monte Vibiano, a carbon-neutral winery in Perugia, Italy, Michael was hooked. Since then, he spent 5 years working with New York states best farmers and producers at Headwater Foods, a distributor focusing on hyper local production and sustainable practices and a few more years working in the nonprofit food insecurity space.

This combined experience led Michael to create Rochester Supper Club with a stated goal to craft immersive dining experiences that emphasize seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, prepared with simple elegance. These communal meals foster connection between individuals and offer the space to cultivate new friendships. Michael believes that bringing people together through food is one of life’s greatest gifts and that is what Rochester Supper Club strives to do at each and every event.
